Susan then got the world's most precious gift, her own belief.

The film's success lies in that it explained the existence of Santa in an adult perspective. The children and adults contradiction between true and false of Santa's existence can be seen as a conflict between reality and dream. Or you can consider it as the scriptwriters struggle in thought.
